Rainbow Beach and Carlo Sand Blow
The coastal town of Rainbow Beach at the northern end of the Sunshine Coast in Queensland is a famous tourist destination. It´s known for its beautiful beaches, a gateway to Fraser Island and a unique moonlike dune called Carlo Sand Blow.
Die Küstenstadt Rainbow Beach am nördlichen Ende der Sunshine Coast in Queensland ist ein berühmtes Touristenziel. Es ist bekannt für seine schönen Strände, ein Tor zu Fraser Island und eine einzigartige mondähnliche Düne namens Carlo Sand Blow.
From the Carlo Sand Blow carpark it´s only a short walk to the dune. It´s a nice path through eucalyptus forest and it´s easy to do for everyone. It also is the starting point of the Cooloola Great Walk a 102km long coastal walking track
If you go there on a hot summer day you should consider to go quite early as the sand heats up quickly and you won´t be able to walk on the sand without wearing shoes.
Vom Carlo Sand Blow Parkplatz ist es nur ein kurzer Spaziergang zur Düne. Es ist ein schöner Weg durch den Eukalyptuswald und für jeden leicht zu begehen. Es ist auch der Ausgangspunkt des Cooloola Great Walk, einem 102 km langen Küstenwanderweg.
Wenn du an einem heißen Sommertag dorthin gehen willst, solltest du in Betracht ziehen, früh zu gehen, da sich der Sand schnell erhitzt und du ohne Schuhe nicht auf den Dünen laufen kannst.
The sand mass is covering over 15 hectares and is overlooking Double Point, Tin Can Bay and the Coloured Sand
I recommend going there in the morning and spend the rest of the day at the beach. At least thats what we did and we had an awesome day. The Beach was pretty crowded, but this was due to Christmas Holiday and weekend, so if you like it quiet, you should better go during the week.
Die Sandmasse erstreckt sich über 15 Hektar und überblickt Double Point, Tin Can Bay und den Farbigen Sand.
Ich empfehle am Morgen dorthin zu gehen und den Rest des Tages am Strand zu verbringen. Zumindest haben wir das gemacht und wir hatten einen fantastischen Tag. Der Strand war ziemlich voll, aber dies lag an den Weihnachtsferien und am Wochenende. Wenn Du es also ruhig magst, solltest Du besser unter der Woche gehen.
