Gelber Frauenschuh Goldschuh ■ Yellow lady's-slipper orchid,

Cypripedium calceolus var. flavum

Einen besonderen Stellenwert nimmt diese Form vom europäischen Frauenschuh ein. Die gelbe Variante ist sehr selten. Ich kenne nur eine einzige Stelle, an der man sie finden kann. Nur ein kleiner Pfad führt durch den Wald zu dem Ort, wo sie vorkommt. Den Tipp hatte ich von einem ortsansässigen Naturschützer bekommen, der die Pflanzen bewacht. Es kommt immer wieder vor, dass Sammler versuchen, diese seltene Orchidee zu züchten. Auch Fotografen hinterlassen immer wieder deutliche Spuren, die nicht zum Vorteil für die Pflanzen sind. Hier fehlt das Verständnis, in welcher Abhängigkeit die Orchidee zu anderen Organismen lebt. In einem vorangegangenen Beitrag habe ich über den Lebenszyklus dieser Orchidee geschrieben.

The shape of the European slipper plays a particularly important role. The yellow variant is very rare. I only know one place where it can be found. Only a small path leads through the forest to the place where it occurs. I got the tip from a local nature conservationist who guards the plants. It happens again and again that collectors try to breed this rare orchid. Also photographers leave clear traces again and again, which are not to the advantage for the plants. There is a lack of understanding of the dependence of the orchid on other organisms. In a previous article I wrote about the life cycle of this orchid.

Diese nachfolgende Aufnahme zeigt die normale Form dieser Orchidee, wie sie noch zahlreicher in einigen Gebieten vorkommt. Ich habe mir vorgenommen, dieses Jahr die Stelle mit dem Goldschuh erneut aufzusuchen. Meine Aufmerksamkeit gehört nicht allein den Orchideen. Die angrenzenden Wiesen sind auch Lebensraum für einige seltene Tagfalter. Bleibt nur zu hoffen, dass die Schutzmaßnahmen das Überleben solcher Raritäten sichert.

This following photograph shows the normal form of this orchid, as it occurs more frequently in some areas. I intend to visit the place with the gold shoe again this year. My attention does not only belong to the orchids. The adjacent meadows are also a habitat for some rare butterflies. Let us only hope that the protective measures will ensure the survival of such rarities.
