One of the greatest discoveries in history by Albert Einstein, the smartest man on earth is the discovery of the atom. Although able to provide many benefits to humans, but in fact this discovery also became a devastating boomerang that is very terrible for human civilization.
Do you know any evidence of the horror of this discovery?
It was the destruction of two major cities in Japan, namely Hiroshima and Nagasaki due to the Atomic Bomb attack. These two cities bear witness to how terrible the weapons of mass destruction are. And in the following year, atomic development became even more frightening with the emergence of Nuclear.
In a state of war, nuclear is a very frightening scourge, but even during peace nuclear is also at risk for many people. Nuclear radiation has such a bad impact. Not only health but also cause death.

Chernobyl Nuclear Disaster

One of the dark records of nuclear use is when there are fires and leaks in Ukraine or precisely at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.
The explosion of the nuclear power plant located in the Ukrainian city of Pripyat, which at that time was still part of the Soviet Union, made large amounts of radioactive particles released into the Earth's atmosphere. The particles then spread to other regions in the Soviet Union and most of Europe.

If observed, the Chernobyl disaster became the worst nuclear disaster with financial losses and casualties that were not playing games. As a result of the nuclear detonation, 31 people were killed on the spot and 500,000 workers in health recovery efforts.

The material loss reaches 18 billion rubles or if it is converted, it is equivalent to 3.5 trillion. Long-term effects on humans are still under investigation.
The origin of the Chernobyl disaster was when the trial began on April 26, 1986 in Chernobyl number 4 reactor, Pripyat City of Ukraine. The location is not far from the Dagieper and Belarus sunagi border.

Suddenly, a power surge occurs. When emergency procedures were carried out to deactivate the reactor, a larger power wave occurred and triggered the breakup of the reactor and led to a series of explosions.
The fire generated from the explosion sent radioactive dust into the air and spread it to most of the Soviet Union as well as Europe. The disaster caused many people to be evacuated and moved places in the contaminated area between Russia, Belarus and Ukraine in 1986 to 2000.
Although the death toll was stated as many as 31 people, but the Chernobyl forum estimated that the death toll could reach 4,000 people. The most casualties, came from rescue teams and the most contaminated city residents.

The Biggest Effect of Chernoby Nuclear Radiation

10 years later from the event of the Chernobyl Nuclear explosion, many people who later suffered from cancer to death due to the impact of Chernobyl nuclear radiation. More than 58 thousand former male employees of the Chernobyl nuclear plant died of cancer and 28 percent of cleaning workers suffered permanent impotence.

While the effects of the terrible disease that arose after the Chernobyl nuclear disaster outside the area, 37 percent of small children in Ukraine suffer from goiter cancer and adult men and women suffer from infertility. The number of victims is not valid because it is estimated to be far more.
In the end, the construction of reactors 5 and 6 was stopped after 3 years of the disaster. The reactor was finally sealed using 200 cubic meters of concrete between the disaster site and the operational building.

The Ukrainian government itself still operates the remaining three reactors, given the limited electricity sources in the country. In 1991, the number 2 reactor was burned, as a result the government announced that the reactor could no longer be used and turned off. The reactor was shut down in 1996 in November.
This was done with an agreement between the State of Ukraine and several international organizations including IAE. On December 15, 2000, the President of Ukraine, Lenoid Kuchma, turned off reactor number 3 in the ceremony. This is done at the same time to end the terrible history of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant.
