Disposable Mentality 丢弃的心态

“Disposable mentality” can mean a disposable thought or treating everything as disposable. In this short article I like to refer to the latter.

The trend today is to have many daily items disposable such as plastic bags, spoons, plates etc. This trend has saved manpower but caused pollution. Both manpower and a healthy environment are equally important, we should not save one at the expense of the other.

It is for practical reason that the consumers are using disposable items such as plastic bags, plates etc. And the increase of using disposable items daily does affect people’s mentality. When consumerism and disposable mentality are integrated together. Unwittingly, even human relationship is being perceived as disposable.

Indeed, the most intimate human relationship is to be found in marriage. If it is solely for practical needs that a man and a woman have got married without thinking of it as a lifelong covenant, such relationship is very fragile. When one another’s needs are no longer relevant in their marriage, they may choose to dispose one another by means of divorce.

What a tragedy to be affected negatively by the disposable mentality that human relationship has become disposable. May be it is high time that this kind of disposable mentality is to be disposed.

“丢弃的心态”可能意味着一个思想可以被丢弃，又或指任何使用品都是可以被丢弃；在这篇短文章，我主要会谈及后者。

今天的趋势是使用一次性的曰用品例如塑料袋，勺子，盘子等；这种趋势节省了人力，但却制造污染。人力资源和健康的环境同样重要，我们不应该为达到某一方面而牺牲另一方。

事实上，婚姻是最亲密的人际关系。如果男人和女人结婚仅仅是出于实际需要，而不将它视为终身契约，那么这种关系就非常脆弱。当彼此的需求在婚姻中不再显得重要时，他们可能会选择通过离婚而放弃对方。

人类关系受到了丢弃心态的负面影响以至产生悲剧，也许现在该是好好地处理这种心态的时候了。
