Divorce dilemma

It seems, global financial melt down has affected the full circle of growth, development, social & personal life. The economic crisis has done, what was undone by matrimonial counsellors since long, to keep troubled marriages together. Marriage counsellor & divorce consultants of inside & abroad say that many couples are putting off divorce for a white because of the high spliting cost in a time of recession, hanging career & stagnant salaries. It is more so in developed countries, due to the involvement of high amount of compensation in divorce.
While the stress of economic uncertainty often worsens, the married couples are more dependent on each other now then the pre-recession period. Given the situation of financial crisis of such a magnitude, millions of married people, who do not get along with the spouse, have no other option but to live together atleast till the crisis is over. And in reality, that is happening in most of the cases in abroad & in substantial cases in our country too, especially in metros.
In United States, atleast a 25% jump in saving marriage cases have been marked in recent months as per the leading marriage counsellers of America & it is attributed to the present crisis only. The sky high divorce cost has really divested the people to desperately opt for a compromise to save money & stay away from stress. Presently, apart from a complicated legal process, the compensation according to rule is also quite high for a divorce. So people feel that it is not wise to loose wealth & money at the time of a global crisis.
Thanks to global recession for endearing such an indirect blessing to the fighting families striving for divorce to escape from reality. In Indian context, though the impact is bit low, but definitely the recession has affected the married earning couples too, especially in big cities & towns. Now they are careful enough for not letting the whims & fancies into their marriage, which costs heavy price mentally & monetarily.
