DIY - The Railing for our Tiny House - Day 1

We worked on our railing all day yesterday. It took a LONG time to debark and sand the pieces for our railing.

We started with the top post. We had the top railing and bottom post cut from last week but did not finish sand it.

We finish sanded the three pieces and started by mounting the two posts. Then we put the top railing on the posts. We connected them all together using 3 inch exterior construction screws.

After we got that done we work on the bottom brace. The first piece we cut AND finish sanded ended up being 3/4 inch short. It was so upsetting. We put the piece on the side and we can use that as a post for the other side.

We cut another piece and this took a long time to sand it. We patched the cracks in the piece and let it dry and it was so late we didn't have time to fish or make dinner so we went out to dinner.
