Looks like China is not in favour of cryptocurrency as per the news but at the back side they are working on this technology and they are even going to launch their official digital currency. this seems to be very contradictory because in the public they are not in favour of it but silently they are working on that.
Not sure why they are taking this is stand and not talking openly in the public to clear their view on the digital currency. baby was they launch it officially then they will be able to speak more about it since their after they don't have any choice to hide it.
Let's wait for some more time and hope their official launch as mentioned in this news article.

Chinese have their own ways to do pretty much everything. Access to public information is "different". Their social media is different and payment methods will be different.
It surely doens't surprise me any more.

Yes, they try to keep everything of their own and I think that's a good move by them. They are not dependent on others.
