According to a German magazine WirtschaftsWoche, acebook's Head of Financial Services & Partnership Services for Northern Europe, Laura McCracken, approved the document to be launched on June 18 - with a cryptocurrency potentially to be launched around the same time.

Libra is rumored to be a Facebook effort for a hassle-free cross-border payment solution that will be pegged to a Swiss treasury bill. This cryptocurrency is expected to be widely marketed in developing countries with an unstable economy and national fiat currency
