Postcards from Thailand #12 - Common Sun Skink

Skinks are a very common reptile species in Thailand.This particular fella is about 10 inches long and a Sun Skink.

Non-venomous but can give you nip that will draw blood if you try and catch him.

The other interesting thing about Skinks is if they are bitten or caught from behind, their tail detaches and they can escape. It then slowly grows a new one back. Clever Skink!
