RE: What we give away when we log on to a public WiFi network - The Correspondent

running a trusted raspberry pi at home as VPN sure would be nice... otherwise running tor browser and use localhost port 9150 as computer wide a proxy would sort of vpn me to a different tor-exit node for every site that i load making it impossible to make a profile of a person... tor browser does not seem to use the same DNS server i have in my home network (pi hole) so im not sure how tor secures you that the tor exit node does not "DNS spoof" you?

so in the end the raspberry pi VPN with its own DNS is the most trusted solution if you are stingy and dont want to pay for VPN and wait for 8.8.8.8 DNS requests? some emails though when you connect them to ur thunderbird or waterver (such as yahoo or gmail) use an Oauth code that works like a posting key but only the master password can change the master password but sure would suck having ur yahoo mail hacked by a non yahoo hacker or use that address to change ur discord password and email....

I'm not a big fan of TOR since it was mostly funded by the US Government. The idea is good but if CIA, NSA and FBI paid for 80% of the project, I don't trust it.

that is true... their intentions though were good though... its open source though and was designed for chinese falun gong (illegal religion in china) to safely use the internet... the project kind of took of when it started gaining a life on its own where people also used it for illegal stuff and wikileaks
