Huawei Harmony OS is Google Android Alternative - FutureSin - Medium
In this article, Michael K. Spencer tells us about the new OS to be launched by Huawei.
I think what will make or break this move is the App compatibility. If the new OS is compatible with Android Apps, Huawei will likely succeed.
On the other had, if every App needs to be recoded by developers to work under this new OS, Huawei will suffer that same fate as Microsoft, which has an Operating System much better and much more advanced than Android and iOS, but without Apps, nobody cares.
I like competition but unfortunately, most humans don't. Most humans are perfectly happy with having just one or two choices in the market, as they enjoy very much to follow the flock.
Most people don't look into alternatives when buying a product or a service, they usually take the lazy way out and buy whatever their neighbours have.
Harmony OS will be open source and will “flexibly deploy” across various devices, including phones and smart TVs
HongmengOS — or HarmonyOS, as it’s known in English — is Huawei’s homegrown alternative to Google’s Android mobile operating system.
Huawei said that it said could replace Google’s Android in just “one to two days” if access to the world’s most popular mobile platform was blocked by the U.S. In the meantime, Huawei is still on Android.
The Chinese tech giant has previously stated that the new system would be released this year after Google confirmed it would stop supporting Android updates for Huawei due to U.S. restrictions. With cold tech war tensions ramping up following trade war issues, Huawei needs to be adaptable to the times.

Huawei’s attempt to develop its own technologies from chips to software to reduce its reliance on U.S. firms amid an intensifying U.S.-China trade war is really impressive with a valid alternative from Android or iOS. It could create a range of technologies for Asia to box out American competition.
