Saint Patrick’s Day: (March 17)in honor of St. Patrick, patron saint of Ireland.His original named Maewyn Succat, was born in 387 AD. He was kidnapped at the age of 16 and during his captivity he became fluent in the Irish language and culture.
Cities with large numbers of Irish immigrants. Boston held its first St. Patrick’s Day parade in 1737, followed by New York City in 1762
Corned beef, cabbage and everything green are associated with the holiday, and even beer is sometimes dyed green to celebrate feasitivity.
