Chinese researcher claims first gene-edited babies

Looks that genetic engineering started on humans. Scientist from China, He Jiankui of Shenzhen, published that he rewrited the DNA of two recently born twins with a new process which made them more resilient for diseases like HIV.  

The event is not yet independently confirmed, but it immediately triggered a turbulent response.
