Huawei launches HongmengOS, or HarmonyOS, its own operating system
At the regular developer conference, Huawei officially unveiled its new, open-source alternative to the Android operating system. It's called HarmonyOS and is the "first" micro-kernel distributed OS (whatever this mean) for all purposes.
They say it's faster and safer than Android.
Well, it's primarily aimed at IoT (Internet of Things) products. However, if Google blocks Huawei access to the Android ecosystem then they will immediately use it on their phones as well.
