PewDiePie? dLive? What?

in #dlive5 years ago

I saw five different reports making the claim that streamer PewDiePie is making a promotional appearance on the Lino blockchain via dLive. If I'm being honest, I really don't understand the appeal of PewDiePie. I barely understand the appeal of streaming video games in general, which is really saying something because I'm a gamer. Why would anyone want to watch other people play video games? I'm probably just too old to "get it".

In any case, apparently PewDiePie was facing some censorship threats from YouTube and here we are. Even though this leaves a sour taste in everyone's mouth because dLive exploited our platform as a testnet, I think this turn of events is pretty bullish for the entire cryptosphere. You wanted mainstream adoption? Well, this is certainly a start.

When gamers and streamers realize that they can begin to make their own money without having to bow to sponsors, advertisers, and other forms of censorship, they will flock to the blockchain. It really feels like the established centralized services are doing us a favor by shooting themselves in the foot as they crackdown on everyone across the board. What are they thinking?

Conclusion

This happenstance is a keen reminder that if the product (dLive) isn't open source, then they can jump ship at any time, leaving Steem high and dry. Not to worry though, Steemians. The lesson learned is more valuable than the damage caused.

Steem on!

Agreed..

I don't think pewdiepie is interesting, but others must.
Yep, dlive, left us with a bit of a bad taste.

But I think there is an amazing lesson here regarding organizing stunts and promotional events.

)

I think they recently came back to blog about their bullsh&t here on Steemit...they got nerve

they didn't, at least not on their original account https://steempeak.com/@dlive/?filter=dlive

"It really feels like the established centralized services are doing us a favor by shooting themselves in the foot as they crackdown on everyone across the board. What are they thinking?"

I find it useful to consider the worst case scenario, add impossible layers of foreknowledge, multigenerational planning, and skillful psychological manipulation of ordinary people. Given seemingly unrelated factors like the War on Cash, market manipulation (apparent in BTC charts), the developing panopticon, and even things like black market organ harvesting, war profiteering in general, and the burgeoning Prison Industrial Complex, it's possible to glimpse business reasons to crash extant Gorilla Kings in the media markets.

Driving content creators to DLT based social media and publicly auditable tokenized money enables the Masters of the Universe to drive a stake in the heart of black markets. This enables them to touch every transaction and extract rent. Centralized walled gardens of wealth and power depend on parasitism. Prior to the information revolution, cash and similar money enabled both parasitism via governmental and corporate profiteering vectors, but also via black markets that insulated them from public outrage. Today too much information is available that can link public figures whose power depends on propaganda and deceit to crimes against humanity. Think Laura Silsby and Haiti, and how the internet makes it possible to directly link the Clintons to human trafficking. Consider Bosnia and Dyncorp during the Clinton administration. Think White Helmets in Syria today.

By forcing people to use DLTs for all financial operations, black markets formerly accessible to clever ordinary civilians (transactions that criminal syndicates most profiting from them, and government corruption were unable to parasitize) become impossible to that demographic, except for crude barter. This greatly increases the parasitic profit potential of governmental vectors, while using national secrecy mechanisms still shields powers behind thrones from being revealed as players in black markets for drugs, slaves, and organs, leaving them even more dominant over global finance in every way.

On it's face censorship is proof of weakness. Used as a goad to drive cattle to platforms preferable to powerful profiteers parasitizing public provenance, it's a secret weapon that cryptically supports the broader agenda behind the panoptic police state vector for corruption and graft. Further support for this theory is the declining profitability of the enemedia - something the business wizards clearly aren't being blindsided by yet continue to exacerbate.

The more cynically observable political phenomena are considered, the more they make sense.

Well the appeal of Pewdipie is that he is one of the biggest influencers in the worl and one of the most famous people in the world.

But let me ask you.. You fighting Bernie again? haha.

Not this time.
He's been locking down my five drugwars accounts for a while now.

I have already forgot about DLive just when I started my vlog on DTube!

I'm not to keen on this publicity stunt myself. I feel it's the beginning of a other 2017 craze. Tread carefully as they say. LoL.

Bring on the CRAZE!

I'm going to guess you don't remember when the Commodore 64 was a craze or when AOL was a craze. :)

AOL was the beginning of this all... asl always made me giggle, cuz I would search for girls in my local town, that we're online. Oddly enough, many more then you can find these days!! Try finding an app for that these days, it's all bad!! Same for any other topic, skating friends, potential magic playtest buddies,.. we've been disconnected. But I'm getting sidetracked, damn AOL.
Nothing compares to the first time you learn a bit about the command line... I remember quite a bit. I am 38 (;

haha, so you do remember! I love the craze.

When gamers and streamers realize that they can begin to make their own money without having to bow to sponsors, advertisers, and other forms of censorship, they will flock to the blockchain.

lol wait until r/buttcoin get a load of this one.

From one centralized service to another. Quite an advancement. But hey, there's money to be made.

dlive could have been a flagg-ship dAPP for steem. kek

but happy to see that we have no sjw-censorship here, its a good place to invest our money and time.

Then why are you powering down?

because I can't stand the beauty, freedom and peace and respect on this platform.

Keines. Sonst wären wir ja nicht hier ^^

erster Juni "Steemit" 2.0 ...mal sehen. Skepsis ist groß. Vielleicht kommen vorher die SMTs Ned wollte ja auch ein eigenes Social Media rausbringen (aber was daraus wurde kp)
