I have never heard or seen this one myself. It reminds me of Terraria or even Starbound from the couple of minutes I watch. These style of games always have such wild in game music.
The first level feels a bit like that because there is some crafting, but after the first level of each play through it's mainly killing mobs and mining. Basically the goal is to gear up, buy a soul gem and then summon the boss. That's what I've figured out so far anyway. It's very roguelike though as far as unlocking characters, hats, and companions.
