ULog 24 - Buy Nothing

Ulogs are a lot like freewriting. You start out with wanting to talk/write about something and end up writing about something completely different.
Today, I wanted to talk about friendship - and ended up talking about a chair. Now, you could say that I have developed a friendship with that chair since I am sitting most of my Steemit time in it. But not really.
That chair was given to us by my sister in law and we really didn't have room for it. I tried to find a good place for it to go and advertised it in the Buy Nothing Facebook group. I love that initiative. The idea is that when we don't need an item anymore and it is still useful - why not give it to a neighbor.
The Buy Nothing Groups are open to members in a specific geographical area. That way, neighbors can get to know each other and nobody wastes gas to drive long distances to get a maybe small item.
The beauty of the groups is that you can also ask for something you need. Maybe to borrow like a carpet cleaner or to be given as a gift. The groups are communicating via Facebook.
