Hello Steemian Friends and DLivers,

We're back with another DLive video from our time in Vientiane, Laos. After the second video, where we showed you the Patuxai Gate and the awesome views you can get from above, we ventured down to the Presidential Palace and walked around that part of Vientiane. This is part three.

Highlights of the video:

Once we walked down Ave Lane Xang, at the end of the road, there is the Presidential Palace, but from the looks of things it seems to be empty. We proceeded to head towards the Mekong river where the Thai-Laos natural border meets. At this point, we came across the Chao Anouvong Statue. We did not know who Chao Anouvong was at the time, but upon doing research (like now), he was the last King of the Kingdom of Laos. He led a rebellion against the Thai monarchy at the time (early 1800's). His death came to a grueling end when he was captured, tortured (in many different forms) and hung for his betrayal to the Siamese (Thai).

Finally, we walked along the Mekong river and came across a Night Market that was just opening up!

We hope you enjoy the video!

That's a cool video guys! Really enjoyed it 😊
May I ask what program are you using for video edit? 😃

Cheers Gabriela! We're just compiling the videos now, two weeks later after our trip. There's just so much material that we're breaking it into manageable videos (just the highlights).

Since we have Windows, we're using Wondershare Filmora - paid about $32 for the year, which is not bad as we use it a lot now. In the past, we would make 2-3 videos per year showing the highlights from our holidays. Now, we're made over 20 videos on DLive and DTube in five months!

Wow that's incredible! Good job guys :D

Thanks! And we just remembered the video editor is FREE, but you will have their watermark unless you pay. So, if you don't mind that then go for it :)

Yep I know the free version but that watermark is a little bit annoying :) thanks for the advices 😊

Bookmarking this!! Laos is on my list this year :3 Great job guys! Would love to read more about tips do's and don'ts!

Well, Vientiane for a weekend is just a piece of Laos. We would have loved to explore more of the country. Due to its deadly history with cluster bombs from the Vietnam war, many parts of Laos are still inaccessible or come with caution/warning. We can give you one tip from our 5 Interesting Facts video that we did last Monday - don't stay up after midnight - there's a curfew, so bars and other businesses start closing down by 23:30. We'll see if we can make a do's and don'ts.
