Not sure kneeling on the militaristic national spectacle of the flag count as distraction. I think the flag and patriotism is a distraction to humanity.
I have thought about this too, I think this meme is pointing out the psy ops involved to keep bringing the flag and patriotism mind control into the public consciousness so that it continues to exist. Along the same kind of lines, much disinformation attempts to point out that certain portions or segments of a idea are harmful when the entire idea is. An example would be focusing on the dangers of 5G when in fact all EMF may have been not been designed to be safe for humans. The whole debate of how your worship the flag is distracting from the fact that all flag worship is ancient mind control.
