Story of one stray dog | 一只流浪狗的故事

When we were talking a walk in the neighborhood today, there was a dog following us, it seemed to be lost. He kept on barking at us, not sure if he was asking for help?

当我们在小区散步的时候，有只小狗一直跟着我们，好像走丢了。它不停地朝我们叫，是不是在求助呀？

It was not a pretty dog, very dirty all over and there was poo hanging at his back. You may hear that dogs pee to mark their way, he kept on leaving its mark. It followed us for couple blocks. In US, it’s not usual to see a stray dog wandering around the street. My husband called the police and reported the case. While he was talking on the phone, the dog probably sensed something, it turned around and walked all the way back to where it came from.

这不是一只漂亮的小狗，浑身脏兮兮的，而且尾巴上还过着一坨屎。你可能知道，狗在走路的过程中会沿途撒尿做记号。它一路跟一路撒。 在美国，很难得看到流浪狗的。 我老公于是打电话报警。当他还在电话中的时候，小狗不知道是不是嗅到什么不安，它停止跟我们并掉头往回走。

We were worried, so we went back to follow him. We saw a car stopped and a man jumped off the car when the dog was approaching. It was walking in the middle of the driveway which was dangerous, the man tried to get hold of him, but the dog was very cautious and didn’t come closer. When we were watching, another car stopped, there was a kid and man which is probably his dad. They asked us what happened, my husband told him what was going on, the guy was supposed to keep going, but he made a u turn and tried to catch up the dog. The boy jumped off the car and tried to be friend with the dog, we saw them disappeared at the corner.

老公很担心，于是我们也掉头跟着它走。小狗跑得很快，我们看到它跑到路中间去，非常低危险。这时候，有位男士在小狗边停车，并走下车，试图抱住小狗，可是小狗很灵敏不让他靠近。 在我们还在观望的时候，一部车在我们旁边停下，问我们怎么回事。车上是一个男孩和一位成年男人，估计是男孩的父亲。老公把情况告诉他们。本来他们是要往前走的，听了以后，他们到前面一点居然掉过头往小狗那里开去。男孩在小狗边停下，试图靠近小狗，小狗往拐弯出跑，男孩跟在后面追，男子开车跟着。 他们一起消失在拐角处。

My husband went up to meet with the first guy, whom told him that he was trying to help too but it didn’t allow him to get closer. We kept on walking knowing there was nothing we can do.

我老公走到第一个男子那里，那人告诉他，他也试着靠近小狗来帮忙，可是小狗不肯。看到这样，我们也就继续散步往前走。

When we were one block down, the car with the boy and the man stopped at our side, they said, the dog has found its home, it belonged to a house few blocks away. They were just there to tell us and then made a U turn and drove away.

在我们走到一条街后，一部车在外面旁边停下。原来是那个男孩和那位成年男子。他们告诉我们，狗已经找到自己的家，就在几条街外。他们只是来告诉我们让我们放心然后就掉头扬尘而去。

I was pretty impressed that so many kind people were trying to help to find its way. My mom was with me, she was surprised and shocked by the culture difference too. She didn’t believe that if it happened in China, people would slow down their pace to try to help the little dog.

真想不到一条小狗居然牵动这么多人的心。我母亲也和我们一起散步也见证了这一切。她说美国的文化真奇怪。如果发生在国内一定不会有这么多人来帮忙。

What a pity that I didn’t take a photo of the dog, but I also thought the dog was not in its glamour for a photo esp with poo hanging at the back. If I see this dog in the future, will definitely take a photo of it and share with you.

走了一会，我才反应过来我忘了给小狗拍张相片。但是我想小狗应该也不喜欢那副肮脏相上镜吧？特别是屁股上还过着一坨黄金。 如果以后我在小区看到这条狗，一定会顺手拍张它的相片再和大家分享。
