Eagle almost ate my baby!
I love Eagles! They are a symbol of freedom for me. We have had the pleasure of watching a nest near my home for years. But! This stops now! This guy was in a tree at the house! Beautiful yes!
However his target was NOT the pond! The little guy below was in real danger!
I was not within sight of this big beautiful bird but heard the call. Started looking around and he was swooping around my back yard. Where I knew the little guy was hanging out! I ran to the back yard and the only weapon I had was a water hose, so I turned on the hose stood under the eve of the house and waited. When this Eagle swooped down in my yard, POW I sprayed him off my little dog! Yes I could have grabbed the dog and ran in the house but I wanted this big guy to think twice about swooping my yard!
All is well Oscar the Grouch is safe in his bed this evening under the coffee table. While he can be a pain I sure don't want anything bad to happen to him!
OMG What a terrifying event to happen to your little fur baby. Thank God you were close to save him with that water hose! That eagle won't be swooping your yard anytime soon. What a DOG HERO you are.
It was scary! He's peacefully sleeping in his nest like nothing happened!
You saved your dog and gave an eagle a bath all at the same time! LOL
Yeah maybe he/she will take a bath in the river less than a mile away next time!
I'm a little to far North / East to see these birds . We do have Falcon's .
How ironic.
As I was reading this, my FIL saw a crow land in the trees at the end of our driveway.
It swooped down to the ditch across the road and grabbed something.
He thought it was a rabbit.
Mrs. Watertower walked out to look,
she poked around the on grid electric transformer and sure enough....
baby rabbits are burrowed under the transformer.
My father in law thinks the crow got 2 baby bunnies.
Gotta love nature.
Yes! Sometimes strange but you do have to love it! Good on Mrs. for finding the nest!
I have baby bunnies in my back yard. My 12 year old female Schipperke keeps trying to 'mother' them. She takes them treats and her favorite things to eat.

Yes it was not fun, and the little guy was like, I'm the bad ass what's going on?
Our national bird pales in comparison . A fu@king Blue Jay . Even the team sucks .
