I find the Dracula bloodline a bit specious. As far as I know Vlad had only one son who didn't live much past 30... he also wasn't a vampire. He was a hero, up against incredible odds so he resorted to terror to psyche his enemies out, and it worked.

Well, he certainly knows more about it than I do- I defer to his wisdom! I have a feeling that the Niebelungen were Vril and the history got distorted to where they were trolls protected by a "dragon." Hence the legend of Siegfried.
