Doodle Trends Drawing Contest 21: Steamed Fish

Hello Doodletrendistas,

Happy Thursday. Time for another Doodle Trends Drawing Contest. Our theme for today is about steamed fish. This is the fourth Chinese food on our prompt in celebration of the Chinese New Year.

Here is a doodle I made quickly for your reference. It took me around six minutes to finish this art. Another item that you may find on the dinner table during the Chinese New Year is a large steamed fish, for prosperity.Let me share a simple recipe for cooking this fish:
20 oz sea bass
2 tbsp Scallion
1 tbsp Ginger
2 tbsp Cooking oil
3 tbsp Seafood soy sauce
½ tsp Salt

Seafood Soy Sauce.To make 3 tbsp of this soy sauce, you’ll need:

½ tbsp black bean, minced
1 tbsp each of dark soy sauce and regular soy sauce
1/3 tbsp oyster sauce
2 tsp sugar
1 tbsp water
1 tsp cooking wine.
Combine all ingredients in a sauce pan, boil in low heat until it is reduced

1. Rub both inside and outside of the fish with salt.

2. place sliced ginger and scallion on the bottom of where fish will be place.

3. Place the fish on the plate and steam it in boiling water for 7 to 8 minutes.

4. Take out the fish as soon as it is done.

5. Heat the cooking oil until very hot. Top the fish with seafood soy sauce and shredded ginger and scallion. Pour the hot cooking oil on top.
