I have so many questions about what comes next. Yesterday I spent like an hour pondering about what becomes of me when I depart from this world, it made me wonder, do you believe in the after life?

Nope. I believe that im dead when i die. Theres really nothing to point to another conclusion.
But if someone finds something im open to change my mind.
Would be awesome if i could chill with Thor in Valhala, with Jesus in heaven, Tutankamon in the egyptian afterlife or with Cesar in the Roman version..

Your life is pointless only if you think so. You need to give your own life purpose.
Maybe the purpose is existance itself.
But even if human existance was ultimately pointless, that doesnt give us the intelectual right to make the leap of saying:

You don't need to believe in it. You need to know it. Yes, there is proof for this.
There are thousands of NDEs (Near-Death Experiences).
Check the website of NDERF (Near-Death Experience Research Foundation): Current NDEs.
There are literally thousands of NDEs on that website, which proves that this statement is true. Currently (2019.08.05, 16:45 CEST) there are 4681 NDEs on that website, and it is constantly/regularly updated.
Some people even have multiple NDEs, and some people even wrote a book (or more) about their NDE(s).
I've had one NDE and while I was out, everything was silent and peaceful. I experienced no pain or emotion. I will check the site, seems like an interesting place.
But to you, do you think we will retain our consciousness as well?
Yes, of course we do. I read a lot of NDEs to know that we do, and I also believe in it.
Most of these experiences are very positive, and most of the people are feeling endless, unconditional, infinite love and wellbeing (without any pain) after they separate from the physical human bodies.
There are also neutral and negative (or partly negative) experiences as well, but that is certain that we continue to live on.
Some people write that they even had (and remember) their past earthly lives.
So they're saying that reincarnation is actually a thing.
The question I have are rife, like is there any connection between our lifestyle choices and how we spend the afterlife? Will we come back to earth afterwards as ghosts or as humans?

I think so, too. People will never miss anyone either, because they dream of everything in fragments. Even the people who are still alive and who miss people will find fragmentary relief in every dream.
