Is Turkey a dangerous place for foreigners?
German press repeatedly reports arrests of journalists with German citizenships in Turkey. But also arrests of tourists and Turkish people living in Germany and visiting family members in their country of origin. But there are more cases, earlier a US pastor and a US consulate employee were also detained.
Today’s radio program in RBB Inforadio (Berlin) reported foreigners can be arrested in Turkey for criticism on the Turkish government on international social media sites. (Since the coup attempt of 2016, dozens of thousands of Turkish citizens were arrested for political reasons.)
