  • We don't have to learn any other language and also have no facility to learn

This is closest to the answer for how our public schools are where we live. Learning a language is mostly like an elective—you can learn if you like, but it's not required. The only thing is, not all schools offer courses in other languages. And if they do, it's probably Spanish.

In the past, French and sometimes German were available, but that's about it. Because of cutbacks in school budgets over the years, language other than English has been one of the first classes to go. Now, we have so many students of Hispanic decent that ESOL classes are available in the event the student needs help with learning English.

I see! Making it compulsory really costs much. But as we use other language as our principle one, so we have to learn English as an international language. There is no other option.
Thanks for your answer.

I don't know if Americans realize just how well we have it as far as languages (well, and other things) go. Since English is spoken in many places throughout the world, and that's what we learn, it's easy to forget that other people with different languages learn at least English, too. Not all Americans learn only English, of course, but nowhere near what it sounds like people from many different places will be doing as far as how many languages they ultimately speak.

Yeah totally agree. I think learning different language is also Improve brain power. So we who are using different language daily is in advance positive in some way.
