I'm basically doing my 'dream' job now for more or less nothing by being here on STEEM. :) I didn't purposefully leave a job, though—my company went out of business because of changes to state law.

However, my wife is working, and so that's how the bills and necessities are being paid. If she weren't working, I would not be here, pure and simple. There is a minimum amount that needs to be available to sustain and maintain life, and so even the lower paying dream job would have to accomplish that. The idea that someone could just follow their dreams is a lie unless their personal circumstances somehow allow it, and I would say, most of us don't have that luxury simply on our own.
