Do you think it's worth reading the 'trending page' on steemit?
When I was new at Steemit the first thing I used to do every day was reading the trending page on steemit. As it can give us an overview of what is going on with the community, who is popular, what pages are really contributing and whom to follow.
But now as I can understand how people manipulate the system or take advantage of it to come to the trending page! And you will find mostly the same people around the page. So this days I find it not much worth to read.
What is your stance on this? Do you think we should read the contents of trending page to get a better overview about the community?

Nowadays I very rarely check the trending page of Steemit.
Maybe some of them is worth to read, maybe not.
There is a lot of bot boosted content.
I have the similar concern.

It is worth reading for someone who has been on Steem for a while and understands that most of the votes have been paid for. I say this because whenever a new dapp comes out or and existing one makes a big announcement they will often promote it to trending.
Yes there is also a lot of people who will just pay for anything to get to trending, but I still check in so that I dont miss any important stuff.
For newer users, I would be very wary of reccomending that they read trending until they understand how Steem works. Probably why so many people leave because they read trending and think its easy to make loads of money on here.

The trending page is a window looking out from someone else's house. It shows what it was intended to show. But you can have any window you want in your own house. Or you can go outside and see the world without walls.
