One more favorite of mine from the Journal of Experimental Botany series.
In my opinion the composition is simple and pleasant.
The color is vibrant and has preserved good contrasts.
Just like Begonia Coccinea, the attempt to control the color is limited.

What a lovely portrait, @lady-idra :) I love the colours, and the forms and lines on this one, the curves of her petals contrasting well against the sharper shapes of the leaves, and the profile of her face shows her smile so well, a beautiful portrait to be sure <3
The constructionist looks really interesting.... is that a tunnel into a cave? Or a passage to the skies? Or both? :D Really liking the concept !!
About The Constructionist, It could be anything you want it to be.
I am all for the whatever suits the observer.

Thank for your feedback, I am quite happy with the way he looks, although I am going to "revisit" the rim of the parchment. I have inadvertently slanted the prospective slightly, I am hoping for even-more eye contact with the spectator.

Somehow you have captured the ever-so-slighty dark seduction of Catharanthus roseus in your portrait! Gorgeous. I have a "thing" for the natural world and botanical drawing in particular, but never have I seen someone draw the FEELING of a flower in quite the same way.
