Drawing of Momordica

Hello friends! Today I want to show you a new drawing with exotic fruit - Momordica.

Momordica - bitter gourd which grows in of tropical and subtropical Africa and Asia and Australia.

Momordica has form of an oblong pumpkin with large irregularities. This vegetable is colored green or orange.
Inside the fruit are quite large seeds.

To the tastes he resembles a ripe persimmon, and the fruit itself tastes like the taste of a pumpkin.
The surface of the fruit is a bit bitter, so the momordica is often called the "bitter gourd","bitter apple", or "balsam-pear"

This fruits widely used in East Asian, South Asian, and Southeast Asian cuisine.

I saw such a fruit used many times in the cuisine of Kerala, India (I stayed there 4 months.) Quite fascinating, and strange. I enjoy your colorful, surreal method of drawing :-)

О, я слышала про такую горькую тыкву, но никогда не пробовала и не видела в живом виде. Интересно, для чего ее выращивают?

Да, и рисовать ее изгибы и извилины - кропотливое занятие)

Спасибо:) Момордику добавляют в рагу салаты и первые блюда. Также ее можно тушить, жарить и мариновать.

А горечь уходит?

Для удаления горечи ее нужно предварительно отварить в сильно соленой воде:)
