DrugWars: Attrition

Now that I actually know how the battle system works I've been attacking players without mercy. It's not even about trying to make gains at this point. Every account that attacks me will be reduced to dust. Except for @beautifulbullies of course, I think she's learned her lesson.

Here is my most recent conquest:

Here we can see that I wiped out all his knifers, gunmen, hitmen, snipers, and 5/6 bazooka

Now I kill his ninjas with some surplus gunmen, and his last bazooka with a sniper.

The rowdies were in my way, so I murdered them with 15 snipers.

BOOM!!! I bought way too many bazooka guys to finish him off, but it was worth it. This attacked killed a week's worth of units in an instant.

A net loss, but still a huge discount for destroying an entire army.

Here's an actual net gain. By using one extra rowdy I was able to tank a big hit on round 2.


What's next?

@drugwars needs to change quite a few things with the game, but I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt because they are so busy.

  • There is still no reason to horde resources.
    • How many accounts do we see with zero units and zero resources to steal?
    • The main incentive of the game should revolve around taking risks in return for reward.
  • The game needs daily quests.
    • Hearthstone does this pretty well. Give out resources based on a quest.
    • Example: Kill 10 bazooka guys to gain 100,000k of all resources.
    • Example: Attack 3 players with units to gain 3 mercenaries.
  • The ranking system is terrible. @ngc has been number one the entire time.
    • The game should be king of the hill.
    • Rankings should change on a daily basis and include a small reward.
  • Dead accounts need to stop producing resources.
    • Farming dead accounts is the main way the most successful players in the game are advancing.
      • I was spamming the attack key on an account that was about to be unlocked and a bot still beat me.
      • We should consider randomizing the immunity timers so they can't be gamed.
  • Finding accounts to attack is extremely flawed.
    • I don't want to see accounts that have nothing to steal and no units.

Parley

I also think it would be interesting to add a negotiation feature. If you wipe out someone's army you could then start negotiations for "protection money" and the like.

Balancing issues.

I have a very strong feeling that Hitman should be buffed. I think he should have more HP and be harder to kill (30 hp). I also think he should be able to steal more resources than any other unit. 500-1000 would make sense.

All in good time. The game seems to be developing nicely atm.

I guess I'll go more in depth about my strategy at a later time.

Sort:  

Some king of the hill would indeed be nice. Rather not in the rankings but a special locations to hold. An incentive to actually fight. Neutral but beneficial territories, perhaps?

What a total massacre! Damn... 120 ninjas, was that the attack that you talked about when we were on discord?

I completely agree with the fixes you said above, regarding the quest part, even travian has a quest-like thing where you send the hero on missions to get special armors and weapons, imo they should do something like that, create a unit named "mob boss" that you can send out on mob-related quests and get items that you can equip on the mob boss, that mob boss unit could boost some defenses, resource production, etc... they could then develop an internal market to trade those items or rent them, digital assets on a blockchain done the right way.

I end up baiting people into attacking me by attacking someone with all my units.

The vast majority of the time they will be back before someone attacks my account.

I am doing the same thing to another player who attacked me and wiped out my entire army and took little over 60k resources, my army on the other hand was close to 1mil worth. So now I am systematically destroying his whole army. He doesn't have any resources but his men will die.

Now, if the 'post your battle!' spam was annotated like this, I'd not have unfollowed so many.

Quests sound like a fun addition to the game. That would be interesting and could be part of making it more of an actual game.

shows that the battle algo is completely 100% BS!
If they want to keep it that way they need a waterfall where if a very powerful group just wiped out another group and has a lot of unused attack power in that strike left, the next unit group is attacked immediately with the remaining attack power.. this goes on until there is no remaining attack power...
who comes up with such a terrible idea???
I really don't get it...
and what about the range units? should they not have the first shoot?
