Hi, Dsounders and Steemians! Welcome to "Failing Forward" Podcast with me @chaelpacia. This is actually my first podcast ever but definitely not the last.

Who is @chaelpacia?
Outside Steemit I am a Motivational and Leadership Speaker influencing other people to become the "Better version of themselves" and "have a Deep Relationship with God". That's the same Goal that I want to achieve in making this "Failing Forward Podcast".

This podcast is inspired by the book "Failing Forward: Turning Mistakes Into Stepping Stones for Success" written by none other than the leadership guru John C. Maxwell. “FAILING FORWARD”, according to John "IS THE ABILITY TO GET BACK UP AFTER YOU’VE BEEN KNOCKED DOWN, LEARN FROM YOUR MISTAKE, AND MOVE FORWARD IN A BETTER DIRECTION.”

We will learn lessons from the experiences of different people who failed, who got back up, who learned from their mistakes and who moved forward toward success using those failures as stepping stones.

To start, let me share to you the 7 Truths about Failures:

1. Failure is Unavoidable

Yes, you heard it right, you cannot avoid failures in life. It is natural to experience failures, we are not perfect, we will fail, we will commit mistakes, but then we need to learn from those things.

2. Failure Is Not an Event

It is a process, it doesn't come in a moment. Example, in taking a Test, if you got a failed score it doesn't mean that you failed a one-time event, the "Failed Score" shows that you neglected the process of "Reviewing the Lesson" before taking the test. (Which most of the students do)

3. Failure Is Not Objective

It's actually subjective. We are the only person who can label if what we did is a failure or not. Our perception or response to our mistakes determine whether our actions are failures.

According to Lisa Amos, a business professor at Tulane University, the average for entrepreneurs is 3.8 failures before they finally make it in business. These entrepreneurs don't see setbacks as failures, they see it as stepping stones to achieve success in the business.

4. Failure Is Not the Enemy

It can actually help us Grow, NBA coach Rick Pitino said, "Failure is good. It's fertilizer. Everything I've learned about coaching I've learned from making mistakes."

Musicologist Eloise Ristad emphasizes that "when we give ourselves permission to fail, we at the same time give ourselves permission to excel."

5. Failure Is Not Irreversible

There's an old saying in Texas: "It doesn't matter how much milk you spill as long as you don't lose your cow." People who see Failure as Irreversible only see the "Spilled Milk" and not the bigger picture that he still has the Cow that can produce another milk. We will fail but we need to see the bigger picture that there is still life after failing, we can still stand up and try again.

6. Failure Is Not a Stigma

Stigma -- a mark of disgrace associated with a particular circumstance, quality, or person [Merriam-Webster's]. Mistakes are not permanent markers, don't allow it to get you down but instead use it as a stepping stone to go up.

7. Failure Is Not Final

Failure is not the end of your life, it is a starting line, even if you "Failed Big Time" it should not stop you to keep on achieving the things that you want to in life.

Pursue your dreams, don’t be afraid to Fail and at the same time don’t be afraid to TRY AGAIN.

Thank you for listening to this Podcast on @dsound and for reading this Post! See you on our next "Failing Forward Podcast."

Thank you.
