Happy Monday! I woke up early this morning and had the urge to make some music, so I ended up creating this simple piece. It's a pretty minimal piano-vocal track. I used the "resonator vocal" technique for a while in the middle. It's done by singing with your lips pursed in a specific way that resonates inside your mouth, making it sound more like an instrument of some sort.
The musical component is mainly a drone on major tonalities in the key of E, but there are a couple sections that go to the relative minor (C#.) I recorded some soft vocal tapping for subtle percussion and used some free domain ocean sounds for ambience. I experimented with automating some ringshifter on both of those tracks, which is the high-pitched whine you hear periodically through the song and at the end.
Not much else to say here! Just a simple, chill track to help combat the melancholy of Mondays. As usual, it was recorded in A = 432 hz using my Yamaha Montage and Blue Snowflake microphone in Garageband. Oh yeah, and there's some stereo delay added to all the tracks. The tempo is 108 bpm. Really pretty - a little like James Blake, but with the warmth turned way up. As ethereal as your poetry, too. In fact, I sensed from this almost exactly what I did when reading one of your latests, Days For Sipping. Both put me in such a tranquil state :)

The music flows right down the waterflow @d-pend. I'm glad to get a chance to hear this. I like playing the piano and guitar. I don't like mixing tracks or recording. I just like playing for fun. I like the end of this piece the most where it goes into a kind of jazz piano and gets colorful around 2:24-2:30.
