I also want to correct this notion that someone having a lesser than 100 sp can't make profit or better curation with steemauto. With all the due respect, that's not true.
There are some accounts here that start getting good upvote at more than an hours or even in the next 24 hours. If an account can set it to upvote @15-20 mins. Am sure he will be getting something out.
Eg. Upvoting before esteem curation upvote on bigger reputation account. @agfacademy and the likes.

The concern with 100sp is more relevant to the small size of votes, number of votes and rc tokens. Under 100 sp unless you are giving 100% you will receive very little from following a curation trail as the votes will range from 10-50% on average and it is not enough to meet the payout values of your vote for curation rewards... not exact numbers but as a general rule for newbies. Furthermore the cost of RC tokens can be detrimental to a new account, becomes a choice of vote/comment/post as is without the complications of a trail draining your rc.
You are correct though if they are using it for specific people and time it correctly it can be used to maximize rewards while also supporting those authors.
