In today's video, I am talking about the formulas to measure yarn count or numbering. There are basically two systems to calculate yarn count. That is Direct Count and Indirect Count. I have explained formulas of both systems here in this tutorial.
Direct Count Formula: W * l / (w * L)
Indirect Count Formula: w * L / (W * l)
Where, W = Weight of the material
w = Unit weight of the specific counting unit or system
L = Length of the material
l = Unit length of the specific counting unit or system
