The language of ivrit ( עברית ) Genesis 5, DTube Video #5

in #dtube5 years ago (edited)

Welcome to my Hebrew reading & language series.

Continuing with Genesis 5:17-21

This week we have two that died, Mahalalel and Jared, after living 895 years and 962 years respectively. We are reading up to the end of the page and will continue on with Enoch next week, the first man who never experienced death.

Enoch actually has his own book of the Bible, but I think the Catholics were the only ones who included it - trusting my memory here because it is more accurate than the constantly changing 'truth' of the internet.

People were living a good 800-1000 years each.

Last week I read through the written numbers for counting people and things. I will leave the image up for a few weeks.

Since there are a lot of numbers in the ages of people, this is a good opportunity to see them in use and hear the difference. See if you can pick out a couple of the numbers in the reading, see what they refer to, and identify that thing as (f) or (m) in context.

Reminder: each letter is also a numeral like our 1, 2, and 3. In Hebrew those are Alef, Beit, and Ghime used lor numbering verses or books...

Awesome lesson sir your teachings are always amazing.

Useful post for learn the language thanks @hebrew

Although the language is a little complicated, I think that if we use 10 minutes a day to learn the language, in a period of time we can understand it, since our brain asks us to use longer periods of time, we will learn the language, in less time. It is about proposing it.

Very good dtube video and pure im learning from your great job

You teach us amazing lessons. I learn a lot of new things. Thanks

@hebrew,
A great Hebrew lesson and a video! Thank you and really appreciate your effort!

Shabbat Shalom~

Mahalaleel was the son of Cainan, who was a patriarch, who lived long before the universal dilivio. Mahalaleel, died 895 years and, according to the Bible, is the eighth person, with more age at the time of his death.
Mahalaleel was the father of Jared, who lived 962 years and, his grandson, Matusalen, who lived 969 years, being these 2, the oldest, at the time of his death.
During those times, people lived, many years, in fact, we were created to live eternally, but because of sin, we have a short life, with an average of approximately 70 years.

It's beautiful words using this lesson and beautiful video
