My 2017: Just a Normal Day Video Contest | A day well spent with the family this Christmas season

It's finally Christmas! The season of perpetual hope and love.

And what better way to celebrate God's love than with your family. Being a family-oriented country, Filipinos are accustomed to reunions and gatherings. It has always been a custom here in the Philippines to spend days within Christmas with the family. We just love having our loved ones around. It's the time of year where flight bookings are full, everyone is busy, and not spending a day in the mall is inevitable.

And to commemorate the season, we decided to visit the mall together. It isn't that often that we get to spend moments like this together. We are a total of 8 members in the family and that is a lot of mouths to feed and goods to buy hahaha. However, with the help of Steemit, we were able to spend the entire day with each other. It may not make a big difference in others it does a great deal for us. We often cut down on expenses because of financial issues yet it isn't really an obstacle to spend quality time. But today, we were able to do it without the added anxiety of not having enough money after Christmas.

Truly, Steemit is a wonderful platform with such wonderful people. It wouldn't have been possible without the Steemian community. Merry Christmas and Best wishes to all of you as well!

Also featured in the video is a traditional meanl in the Philippines: A Boodle Fight. Food is usually served in the middle of the table lined with banana leaves. The serving is enough to feed everyone and often includes rice topped with different kinds of meat, shellfish, and seafood.

Thanks so much to @anomadsoul for this inspiration behind this. Because of your contest, we were able not only to enjoy the day but also to capture the precious memories we had with my family. That means a lot to me. I hope you had fun watching the video as much as we had fun on that day.
