Hi There SteemVerse Friends,

This is my first FreeWrite on Video. Author Reading is an Initiative between @mariannewest of FreeWriteHouse and @d00l13 of @onelovedtube. The prompt given, "perfume". I have to say, I am super stoked with this initiative. I really hope you like this.

She was the talk of town, once upon a time. Wherever she went she got a standing ovation. She performed to a full house. People loved her

Mum used to call her a horse with blinders. She was always so focused. So set on reaching the end. Sometimes she lost what was really important. Sometimes even when she realised that the end may not be all she had expected at the beginning, she would just keep going.

That's the way it was with him too. When she first met him at a cocktail party that was held in honour of her, she wasn't interested. Her dance gave all she needed. He pursued her. That's the only thing to call it. Like a hunter, his prey. His horse.

She didn't want any distractions. Dancing required a lot commitment. Her solo shows were 90 minutes long and it required routine that did not include a relationship.

He never let up. He was a horse with blinders himself. He bought her flowers. He turned up at all her shows. He called, he messaged and finally she gave in. She remembered that first night so clearly in her head. And even after he left, his perfume lingered in the room until the next morning. She was in love.

But that night, was the first and last they spent together. Their roles reversed. She was calling, texting, showing up at his place. She couldn't remember when she became the greatest dancer to the mad woman who lay in her special room. Thinking of him. Dancing for him.
