Mercy And Her 7 Kits

Mercy’s 7 kits (rabbit children) are about a month plus now and I am going to wean (separate them from their mother) them from their mother in about two weeks’ time. They have started eating a lot of the mixed grains I feed them with and also eat the vegetables (potato leaves). Although I think they prefer the grain to the vegetables, I did a trial today by putting both food in and they all went for the mixed grains. I don’t know if it was because I feed them with vegetables yesterday night and they’ve had enough of it or if they just prefer grains to vegetables. One of the kits was busy looking at me videoing them, it might be the one that will turn out to be a movie star among the 7 kits, who knows. Lol.

It is important that at this stage they have started going for the food once it is put in and not waiting for the doe (female) to start eating before they eat. It shows that they have recognized what food is. You can see none of the kits made any attempt to suck the mothers’ breast because that doesn’t hold them again, now they want solid food.
