Harana: Are Serenades still IN?
Are serenades still in? Millennials nowadays forgot what courtship is, and how it is done the traditional way. Now that there are different forms of social media evolved, high-tech gadgets are in... they no longer do "courtships". Some met their "boyfriends/girlfriends" online, some starts as textmates... but before this technology evolved, did you know how courtship was done the traditional way?
Here in the Philippines, the serenade was done by a man for the "apple of his eyes" as part of his courtship. Serenade was defined by Google as:

For me, singing a song dedicated to your loved ones is very special and romantic. I prefer the traditional way of courtship... It requires hard work, commitment, and perseverance.

Nowadays, manliligaw lang sa facebook o cell phone, sagot kaagad. Pero noong una, makikita mo talaga ang sakripisyo kung ikaw ay manliligaw; however, reality knocks patuloy na talagang mabubura ang ating mga tradisyon.

Pwede na mangharana sa pamamagitan ng fb at yt. Upload mo video mo na kumakanta para sa special someone mo. Lalo na pag malayo kayo sa isa't isa, pwede na lang daanin sa ganito. However, I agree with the way they do things then. More effort. It makes wooing and winning over the one you love more romantic.

In this age of technology, we can do this by posting videos of ourselves singing a song to a special someone. The "harana" is now digital. Wouldn't it be more beautiful if we do it the old fashion way? Malay mo mas sisikat ka pa :D
