In this Majority Report clip, David Dayen joins me to discuss the horrible GOP tax bill that's about to become law in America. Dayen and I discuss how this new tax code will incentivize Americans to game the tax system become corporations themselves. For those still uncertain of what happens when you cut taxes and increase spending look no further than what happened with Kansas under Sam Brownback where popular programs were cut after S-corp loopholes led to a huge deficit in the state budget.
Although states cannot have deficits, at the federal level "the deficit" is often the argument used to cut unwanted spending programs namely entitlements. Do you think we will benefit from the tax bill?

While I respect your intent to solve social problems, I disagree with your approach and methodology. Raising taxes (for anyone, rich or poor) reduces the natural ability of the free market to provide the best quality and quantity of goods and services (including labor) to where they are needed most. Government, by taxation, seeks to heal a wound, by inflicting some other wound (and always to the benefit of congressmen who are not reigned in by term limits).
I feel like you'd be doing more effective good by promoting things like term limits rather than doing what appears to be an attempt to eviscerate tax cuts largely because they were GOP crafted. I would support ANY party which sought to reduce government interference in the free market, reduce laws, reduce government itself, and allow natural good to emerge unfettered by regulation and legalized theft (taxation).

@clumsysilverdad, is it the mcercantilists... or the political organizations you fund with your tax money that subsidize and sustain those mercantilists? What is a corporation? Is it a person which can be good or evil, or rather is it the strawman created by the government to shelter and protect would-be evil doers? i think we are saying some of the same things... i like libertarians in general, but they have this magic fairy belief that something is going to keep the environment-labor-nations clean and blissful on their own, it just doesn't happen like that unless those values are clearly enshrined by a progressive government... humans are lazy and dirty followers if not educated and instilled with worthy values
