Hey everyone out there in steemit land I hope all is well. Here in the north of Peru it has been an exciting day. Traffic was shut down by the local fisherman community throughout the entire region. The area which this protest affected was quite large and made quite a dent to the local economy for the day. However the fisherman are protesting the addition of new oil rigs in the Tumbes and Zorritos areas of northern Peru. The fisherman are concerned about pollution and many other environmental disasters which can occur by allowing new oil platforms into the area. So in this regard I have to say that I was not angry about any disruptions at all...in fact I hope that the government caves in and does not build the new rigs. With this being said the protest also did not allow any of the local kids to go to school or the adults to go to work. So we all took advantage of this situation and enjoyed a fun morning of surfing. Why don't you all grab a towel and some sunblock and lets head on over to the beach. The sun is shining and the water is refreshing. Enjoy.

On this beautiful Thursday here in northern Peru the fisherman community has decided to protest and shut down traffic in the entire area for the day. Meaning that nobody could work, go to school, or travel for the day. There is only one thing you can do on a protest day here in Peru, and that one thing is go surfing.
