Exploring The Botanical Garden in Mauritius! 🌿🌴 (VIDEO)

in #dtube6 years ago (edited)

There a lot of things to see and do in Mauritius - the beautiful beaches, nature and climate are simply incredible.

One of the first things we wanted to see, which I also mentioned in my Mauritius Post, is the Botanic Garden in Pamplemousses.

The gardens were first created as private gardens by the French governor of Mauritius almost 300 years ago.
When the British took over Mauritius the garden faced some difficulties, and was later revived and re-opened as public gardens and tourist attraction.

We really wanted to experience this variety of different plants, so we decided to visit the beautiful gardens.

They stretch over an area of 33 hectares - featuring a variety of over 650 different rare, tropical plants.
There are also countless ponds, unique species like water lilies, baobab trees, medicinal plants, 85 different kinds of palmtrees, a large spice garden and more.

Watch some impressions of our adventure below on DTUBE !

We had an amazing time in the Botanical Garden.

The wide variety of different plants is incredible, and the garden is structured beautifully with countless ponds, canals, different flowers, and even giant turtles.
What I enjoyed the most is probably the giant water lilies, or the white Lotus flowers.

It's fascinating what mother nature can create in a climate like this, and experiencing the differences in flora & fauna around the world.

There is still so much more to see in Mauritius, and I'm excited to continue exploring and share my experiences with you on Steemit!

It is simply beautiful!!! :) Will definitely visit in the future

Peace

Yeah you should, it's VISA free(for most countries so that makes things easier). cleaner air and fresh food. I actually feel that living there can add extra 10yrs to anyone in a highly industrialized environment with terrible Carbon levels.

Nature repairs, heals and arguments in ways science may not understand.

it's breathtaking.

Agreed 100%! Its like you read my mind bro, you just counted all the things I crave for in this life

True! If you would just live in harmony with nature, I'm sure it would prolong your life and improve your well-being drastically.

Mauritius is only good for vacation to live here is not good I am living here for the past 4 years and can't wait for next year to leave and go back to Berlin. It is a super super corrupt country which is telling the world that it is a democratic republic but it is not it is a country under a strong dictatorship and a police state where you can become prime minister without an election like recently happen where the old prime minister gave the job to his son. This would never happen in a real democratic country! Also Mauritius is not following international laws but they don't get any sanctions because it has no value for bigger countries. Here they put people in jail for everything even a small crime like stealing some sweets in a store. Everything is more expensive then in Europe but the people earn in average EUR 200 the balance for income and expenditure are totally out of control. I have a friend from Nigeria who was 2 years innocent in jail just because of an accusation and from one day to the next they kicked him out of Mauritius because they know that they have made a mistake. Mauritius is a very dangerous country but not because of the people but because of the system.
I don't want to ruin your vacation but I wanted to tell you the truth about Mauritius.
LOVE&LIGHT

Hello @danyelk , thanks for your comment.
It's very interesting to hear your perspective from a local point of view.

I know that living in a country and visiting it on vacation is a big difference.
I can imagine that earning money here with traditional jobs is quite difficult.
But luckily, we are living in a new era where you can earn money online without needing more than your laptop.

The perspective from a local and from a tourist point of view are always different, but thanks for giving us an insight.
For a vacation, Mauritius definitely still offers a lot of amazing things to do.

Your welcome and yes I just wanted to led you know how it really is in Mauritius and yes living in a country and visiting it on vacation is a big difference. I traveled a lot my self and lived in many countries but Mauritius is by far the worst one.
I am a German so I am using the Internet and a PC or Laptop since the beginning but many of the people here don't have the money or the knowledge to work from home and there mentality blocks it as well, you will not believe me how many times and to how many people here I have talked about cryptos steem and all that stuff but they give a shit they just live today and what is tomorrow is a different story and they don't care.
Okay I don't want to spoil your vacation enjoy the nice places in Mauritius and if you need a tip what to do just ask me I have done it all.
Best regards Danyel
