THE TRUTH ABOUT INDONESIA's BEACHES (and what can we do?)

in #dtube5 years ago

Indonesia is an incredible country and it has some amazing nature everywhere, including the epic beaches. This is just a little something that we all can do to help out whenever you go exploring.

Did you know that Indonesia is now the second-largest contributor to marine plastic pollution after China?

A recent research article, published in the journal Nature Communications, estimates that between 1.15 million and 2.41 million tonnes of plastic enters the oceans every year.

So what can we do about it? In this video is just a little something that we can all do to help out whenever you go exploring around Indonesia (and anywhere else in the world too). Watch it now and decide for yourself!

Watched it? Ok great, now what else can we do to help?

I understand this is a contraversial topic and it's not just Indonesia where this is a problem, it's everywhere. But by joining and sharing ideas like the @adventurebagcrew and #leaveitbetter campaigns we can start to make our environment a cleaner place to live in.

The concept is simple, and the idea is to pair adventuring with a thought process.

STEP 1: Collect a bag of trash next time you go on an adventure into the mountains, jungle or the beach.

STEP 2: Sharing your Adventure Bag on social media is just as important as collecting it. The idea isn’t to receive praise or brag about the good deed. The sole purpose of sharing your Adventure Bag is to inspire your friends and family to join the movement. If you pick up one bag of trash and inspire nine people to do the same on their next adventure, your total is 10.

STEP 3: The Adventure Bags will be reposted on the @adventurebagcrew Instagram and on the stories so more people can see. The hashtag is #adventurebag.

If you agree with the ideas being shared here then remember to take a bag with you next time and encourage other people to do the same. You can also SHARE this video and put your own Adventure Bag photo in the comments so more people will know about this movement!

The loudest of voices sometimes start from the smallest ideas. If we all take part, then we really can make a difference.

Thanks for watching

Don't forget you can enjoy the initiative on Steemit too - @cleanplanet rewards those who collect trash and show it via a DTube video or blog post. Check them out too! Well done for playing your part in getting rid of the plastic mayhem! It's particularly bad here in Thailand too!

OMG ... it's so sad to see a beach in my country like this.

Hi @thelifeofjord, try to run the program from @cleanplanet, but maybe it will help a little to overcome the garbage, and you invite more Dtuber to be involved in the @cleanplanet project on this beach.
I think so ...
