The issue of ads being added to the steem blockchain has been a well debated issue for long on this platform.
Well, it's finally here but the choice to have ads on your post and consequently getting paid for number of clicks you get is your choice.

It's a good idea I'm just not that keen on it being a separate publisher application rather than a modular add-on.. This could have been integrated into something like steemplus and or been a stand-alone plugin that offers a native and seamless integration system
As it stands now its not so much advertising platform as it is contextual promotion engine of others content which I think is a novel idea to leverage other peoples audiences and for you to monetize your audience you built upon steemit
You are right @chekohler. It would have been much easier if this was created as a plug-in or extension rather than being a different application all together.
The @dclick team should put this into consideration.
