Introducing @calimeatwagon and "The Cali Show" [Showcase #1] Dunite is growing! 4100 delegated SP and counting!

Hey DUnite family,

Today we've got our first content creator showcase. The team has been talking about this all week and we just couldn't wait to get it out to you guys! First, let's cover some of the basics:

How the Showcase Works

This showcase is part of our efforts to help live streamers and content creators make a career out of their passion. We already provide upvotes, free tools, and overlays, and our showcase takes things one step further. Each week we highlight one to two content creators and provide a brief overview of their channel, as well as a small Q&A.

This will both help the streamer who's showcased, as it gives them more exposure and can help build their following, as well as other streamers and creators who can apply some of the tips discussed in the answers.

Meet @CaliMeatWagon

Hailing from the West Coast, @CaliMeatWagon is a chill, variety streamer playing and streaming from his Xbox. His blog primarily features his gaming live streams (called The Cali Show), but has reports on the top tags to use for posts sprinkled in. We asked him a few questions about his streaming and here's what he had to say:

What do you usually stream?

"I tend to play a variety of games, from multiplayer to online/co-op. But I generally prefer first person games (mah emerjin). As for games that I’m currently streaming, lately it’s been between GTA V/O, Kingdom Come Deliverance, World of Tanks, Deep Rock Galactic, and Minecraft. I truly am a player of almost all genres."

When do you usually stream?

"I normally stream 7 days a week from Midnight-5am PST (8am-1pm GMT). I do plan on throwing some random streams in there during normal day time periods, but I haven’t started those yet."

Why do you stream?

"I stream for two reasons. Streaming can be a lot of fun. It gives me a chance to interact with different people, possibly introduce them to a game they never played, and maybe help them out with one they struggle with."

"I also stream because I want to play video games for a living. We live in a beautiful age of technological and social advances that allow people to choose careers/lifestyles that were never before possible. And there are few better options (in my opinion) than being a streamer".

What are your goals for streaming?

"I want to build my stream to a point that I can proudly point at it and say, this is how I make my living. But I want it to happen because of the quality of my stream; because people find value in it."

"To accomplish this, I build my stream towards the two reason why people watch streams: 1) to be entertained, and 2) to be informed. I strive to make sure whatever information comes out of my mouth is as factual as possible. And I make it priority to interact with my viewers as promptly as possible."

What are some tips you can pass along to other streamers?

"Viewers come for the game, and stick around for the streamer. So don’t worry about what game you stream. Just make sure that it is something you enjoy playing (or you can at least entertain with). And it doesn’t matter how many people are currently watching you. Always pretend like it’s the entire world and they are your best friends."
