Violet is the last visible color on the color spectrum (before ultraviolet which is invisible to a human being in the "regular" modes of perception).
Violet signifies the highest frequency visible by the human eye and is therefore a most symbolic hint to the promise and aim of a project long before one dives in to get a closer look on the technicals.
This may sound like hippie-shit to most people and frankly I don't care^^ To me it's always a great way to get a first glimpse of the underlying quality of any project - much like the name, the colors and shapes used often give the show away on an energetic level ;)

I see dark violet with a light pink thrown in there. But that is a great suggestion to be able to pick your color combination for the background.
