How Much Did That eBay BEST OFFER Go For?!?

in #ebay5 years ago (edited)

I’m sure a good majority of the folks on here have utilized eBay at some point in time. Be it to buy that elusive vintage LP that you’ve been hunting for, or to get rid of that 12 year collection of Playboy’s and other smut mags that you’ve hoarded for years...uhhh...like a friend of mine did. Bob...damn dirty pervert...yeah...Bob...

Either way, one of the more frustrating features on eBay, is the lack of the ability to see what the “Best Offer” sold for on a listing. It used to present that information but several years back they decided to remove it for whatever reason it just shows a line slashing through the asking price as shown below. All I know is that the seller took an offer less than the asking price of $95 bucks.

Now I’ve known about this handy trick for years now, but I’m always surprised with how many people that utilize eBay often are completely unaware of this super helpful option. In my business of collectibles, people accept best offeres all the time so it’s pretty important to be able to actually have access to see what the item in question actually sold for.

It seems I’ve been having this conversation with customers on the regular as of late. So I figured I’d pass this along here Incase any of my fellow Steemians were unaware. Ok here we go.

  • First thing you’ll want to do is to find and copy the item number for the listing in question. For this I’ll be using the listing for a Funko Hikari Astro Boy Exclusive Collectible. I’ll be doing a piece on these giant turds of collectibles later.

  • Next you’ll want to hop on over to: http://www.watchcount.com and paste the eBay item number into the search box as shown.

  • Then you’ll see the details of that specific listing pop up containing all sorts of information including the best offer price that was accepted.

In this specific case, this item was listed with a Buy It Now of $95 bucks and the seller ended up settling for an offer of $80 bucks. So now ya know!!!

Hopefully this wasn’t a waste of time and that it helps someone here!!! Check back later as I’ll be doing a little piece on this specific toy line called Hikari’s by Funko. They suck...

FFF mmmeee... With all I do on eBay, this is news to me. I usually just sorted on recently sold items by price to get the window it was sold at. With this expert tip, I'll be unstoppable!!

Really?!?!? See...right here alone...this post is worth it then! An experienced ebayer such as yourself can now see what stupid offers went for. I created a monster!!!

Yea, stupid me ^2, but not anymore. Oh, and if you just created a monster, I'm going to need my own Funko then. Limited edition. I'd like to see the blueprint sketch by Monday at 10 AM, please.

Great tip @blewitt I thought the watchaccount website was a service you had to pay for I watched a video on using ebay sometime ago guess it was wrong.

Oooo handy!

PS - Aren’t you just supposed to donate the Playboys to old folks homes? 😂

No, the only the reason they get prescribed viagra is so they don't roll out of bed.

😂🤣😂🤣🤣😂😂🤣

Oh, rad. Now I can creep even harder on peoples ebay stuff. Hell yeah.

through their windows....of course.

This really should go be tagged as a Public Service Announcement.

Agreed. I will chance one of the tags now. lol
