CULTISM IN SCHOOLS AND SOCIETY; EFFECTS AND POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS

in #education6 years ago (edited)

It is a secret association or membership of a group of persons who share common ill goal to destroy fellow mankind. Membership is often through secret initiation. Identifying with such associations automatically limits the privileges, security, safety and freedom of such a person who decide to do so without initially knowing about it. Once you belong to such groups, you have eventually become a public enemy that might experience a worse death than that of President Gadhafi of Libya.

Your bosom friend might become your enemy, you select who to associate with, which are mostly gang members. Your own members can get you brutally beaten up or even kill you in some cases. Sudden death can occur as a result of other groups taking vengeance and millions of souls have been victims all over the world and you could be one of them if you decide to become a member of a cult gang. At the beginning, you will be told that the world is yours but once you become part of them, that is when you will realize how limited and indebted you are to the society. Your safety is no longer guaranteed like it was, because you are now a visible target.

Most people belong to such groups as a result of pressure or social admiration or companionship influence, but it comes to point when those same friends shall betray you one day. In cultism there is violence, hatred, betrayal and envy among members.

VICTIMS

There was a case of two gangs that had misunderstanding and group "A" took the life of a member of group "B". Group " B" re-enforced for vengeance and in trying to carry out their hit, they met a member of group "A" who just arrived the country after being out to study abroad for 5yrs.

He was on his way home and a member of group "B" spotted him and identified him as a member of group "A". They followed him up to his family house and shot him dead right at the presence of his parents. Imagine the trauma the parents would go through. After the scene, the mother fell unconscious and when she regained her consciousness, it came along with mental disorder. It means you must not be part of the trouble to become a victim. As long as you are a member, you are a possible victim at any point in time. Any day! Any year!

HOW TO AVOID BECOMING A MEMBER

  • Whenever you are pressured by members to become part of them, report to the police to get such persons arrested and they should sign an undertaking never to come close to you again and if anything happens to you, they shall be held responsible.

  • Don't ever admire cultists because of youthful styles and fashions. Sometimes, it seems if you don't belong to a cult group then your not relevant. It is a youthful lie! In reality, if you don't belong to any gang, you are far more relevant to the society at large. You are even more privileged to hold greater appointments and positions.

Steve Jobs, Ngozi Iweala and other great achievers never belong to a secret cult before they became history makers. You don't need cultism! It is a social distraction that denies you the time and chance to achieve the greatest values of life and one of them is peace.

Out of fear, some members no longer attend classes or exams, most members become drop-outs with lot more disadvantages. The distraction within cultism makes the few successful ones not to attain a valuable or satisfactory result grade. Some say membership guarantees employment after graduation but thousand and millions of them are jobless hoping non-cultists organizations to employ them.

Cultism is all about prodigal incitement. It is a Lose! Lose! Game from time to time! As for those who are already members, you are advised to renounce your membership and be free from such an evil connection.

The pressures that our youth face is heart breaking. We all can play a positive role though as an influence whether we're parents, aunts/uncles, siblings, teachers, or friends. It's important for our youth to have a positive support system.

Well spoken...thanks dear!!

Here in the Philippines, teenagers are more susceptible to this kind of organizations such as the fraternities where there are reported incidents of death due to hazing or just like what you have discussed in the "victims" situation. I have asked some of my friends and they say that they join to certain organizations as a sense of belonging or acceptance of peer, and some have this practical reasoning which is to easily acquire jobs due to the advantages and connections you could gain after joining. But the point is, your just like lending your life to an organization that could guarantee you with pleasantries, risking your life knowing every day could be the time of your death. :( I felt so pity for responsible and decent parents who have high regards for their children.

@leslierevales your correct most youths are been cajoled into cultism as a result of peer pressure...Also,due to the flamboyant lifestyle exhibited by cultist most gullible youths are attracted to them.

and they often forget that sometimes, promises are made to be broken, not to be fulfilled :)

Emphatically yes, especially with cultist.

haha cheers to that :D
