The Deep web, it's deeper than what we thought: What is the Deep web and why avoid it!

Hi Steemmates!

After I've finished my Blog about Tor Networking, I decided to gather some information about Deep Web and I also watched a couples of videos about it. And it turns out, it was so creepy, I couldn't watch the rest of the video. So I hope you'll enjoy my presentation.

The Deep Web

Source

The US military created it, being a part of the Internet itself. The Deep Web originated at the same time that the Internet did, 1969, while this would be somewhat true. At that time the Deep Web did not contain any information or databases like it does now. Communication using the Deep Web and the ability to hide information on it as usual, started as a project by the US military to create a means of secure and undetected communication from their soldiers aboard.
Long time ago, if you wanted to go to visit a website, there wasn't a website where you could go to an index search to find it. You needed to know the website's address or you needed to know, what web page that link to the website. Years after division was formed, separating the non-index websites and everything that is found through search engines, because we always Google everything, but Google only shows you a tiny portion of what actually exists, it's controlled, monitored and secured.

But with all the tens of thousands of websites being created and destroyed. The Deep Web is virtually endless. Many of these unlisted web pages are just unlisted and can be visited by simply typing the web address in the address bar of your normal web browser, if you know the address, but there are many sites that are required for you to have a special software like Tor or free net to view an access. There are some where you need an invitation with instruction on how to get to the website or a hacker, not all sites are filtered to that degree.

I made a blog as well, on how Tor Network works.

Onion Routing was born, it's a method of information transfer, where information is encapsulated in layers of encryption, resembling the layers of an Onion, hence the name Onion Routing. In 2002, the best-known implementation of Onion Routing was developed "The Onion Routing" project or simply called Tor, after the military released the code to the public, the Tor browser was created and enabled anyone to browse the Deep Web. After the release of the Tor browser, people started creating websites hidden from public eye. What Tor does, it allows it's users to browse sites of the Deep Web, while maintaining their anonymity, this allows people to do just about anything they want online, without being track down. You need to take some serious security precautions before you go to the Deep Web and you need to not use windows, while doing it. Just because you can't see people , who run the sites, doesn't mean they can't see you, in fact this unknown people make their business to know, who is viewing their web sites.
Just a warning: Do not toy with the things, that you do not understand.
When using a browser software Tor to explore the Deep Web, you're going to hit a sites that not ends with .com, .net, .org but with .onion. The domain name to these sites, usually starts with random letters and numbers ending with .onion for example:
Domain name: xyzr2316.onion
Note: This is just an example.

When you purchase something on the Deep Web, no one use credit, debit card, money orders, wire transfer and so on.. You can only use one currency or rather a crytocurrency, which is bitcoin. It's an untraceable from of internet currency. This is used to make virtually all Deep Web transactions.

The dark side of the Deep Web

Now I'm about to tell you, some disturbing things that you might find on the Dark Web. Many of us are used to seeing strange weird and creepy photos and videos. But the Deep Web holds photos and videos that are the strangest and creepiest as well as the most violent. 80% of the Deep web saturated with photos and videos dedicated to child abuse. I'm not talking about photos and videos of children being beaten. It's about photos and videos of child porn, rape and murder. There are also photos and videos of people being beat to death, stabbed, shot, even beheaded along with people being cooked alive.
Aside from being able to buy illegal firearms, drugs, fake ID's, passport, stolen PayPal accounts, stolen credit cards and so on..
There are also sites, where you can hire thieves, hackers or Hitmans. Yes, Hitmans are real! There was even also a crowdfunding site that set ups the bounties on the heads of your favourite political figures.

The Dark Web is home to chat rooms and forums that attracts the most evil people on earth. Probably the most horrifying things that exists on Dark Web is the "Red Rooms" , these are basically live streams of people being tortured, raped and murdered in from of an audience, and audience pays to have whatever they want happened to these people.
You might be an ace hacker, that can slip in and out of any network undetected, but once you get that far in the dark web, the people, who owned and run these demonic sites, knows who you are and where you are.

I mean these people have the ability to take snapshots of you through your webcam, without you knowing.
This is a world, where you do not wish to enter, because a lot of stuff will leave you emotionally, not to mention psychologically scarred. None of this madness will ever stop, until no one will go int there. The more people using the Deep Web, the larger the Ocean for these criminal to hide.
Some good people uses Deep Web too. The Deep Web is used for it's anonymity, in order to conceal criminal acts. It can also be used to help good guys fight their war excluding the police, there have been individuals operating on the Deep Web, that are dedicated to catching the criminals and helping the police just to shot down a certain websites.

And that's all for the presentation! I hope you enjoyed reading it!

Thanks for reading!
